My Babies!

Here are some pictures of my cuties that I took today! I love how they turned out. I will be using a couple of them for Avery's birth announcement as soon as I get them designed.

Everything is going very well. Braylon is an awesome big brother and loves to help out with Avery. He is being such a big boy. We are really working on the potty training now. It is going ok. He spent last week at my mom and dad's and they worked with him too. Hopefully we can get him trained soon so we only have to buy one set of diapers. :) Avery is doing great also. She is still gaining weight well and is our little chunky monkey as you can tell in a couple of the pictures. :) We are still working on the sleeping, but it is getting better.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures!

The three loves of my life!! I couldn't be more blessed!

On our way to our first Sunday mass.

Our baby girl is one week old today. I can hardly believe it. We are all doing great and are getting settled in as a family of four.
Avery and I were discharged from the hospital on Thursday. Avery's weight at discharge was 8lbs 3oz. She had lost 12ozs, but the doctors said it was within the normal range. We had her 48hour checkup on Saturday and she was already up to 8lbs 13oz. Doctors were very impressed with her weight gain. I wasn't too surprised since all she does is eat. I am up all night feeding her. That is about all I can complain about. I am tired. She is up all night wanting to eat. We are working on trying to get her days and nights swithed around.

Braylon has been great with his "Little Sissy Avie". He wants to hold her every second he can get. She is not lacking in the kisses department.

We have our 1 - 2 week checkup on Friday. I can't wait to see how much weight she has gained. Not knowing for sure how much she is eating is the most stressful part of breastfeeding. She is a GREAT nurser, but I still worry.

Chris has the rest of the week off and I am loving him being home with me. It is nice getting to bond with Avery with him home. I am going to miss him when he has to go back to work next Tuesday.

Enjoy some pictures!

Tomorrow is the Day!

Tomorrow is the day for us to meet Miss Avery! We are scheduled to be induced at 6:45 am March 2nd! I can hardly wait. Hopefully it won't take too long, but not too fast either. I want enough time to get my epidural. :) I'm not a fan of pain. I am already almost 5 cm and fully effaced so I am getting pretty nervous of it all happening faster than I am ready for. :)

Please keep us in your prayers for a safe delivery and healthy Baby Girl!

We will post updates and pictures tomorrow!!

Long Week/38 weeks

What a long week in the Meyn household. It started off with a relaxing Monday. I had the day off for President's Day and Chris took if off to spend the day with me. We ran a few errands, saw a movie, went out to eat for lunch and then headed to his work for a Baby Shower. They got us diapers, burp cloths and a lot of adorable outfits, among other things. It was very nice of them and we had a great time.

Then on to Tuesday. This was a very busy day. I had to work, go to a doctors appt and my dad had surgery on his neck. The doctors appt went great except for being there for 2 hours. I was hoping to be done by six so we could be on the road to Topeka to see my dad, but they of course were running behind. But anyway, Avery looked great and I have progressed much further than I was expecting. With Braylon, I was a 1 the whole time. I went to the hospital at a 1, 1 week past my due date. So I was shocked to hear the doctor say I was a 3-3.5 and very soft. She couldn't quite feel the head, so It won't be awhile yet. I just can't imagine her being any lower. She is already WAY lower than Braylon ever was. So this time a around is a whole new experience for me and I have to say it makes me a little nervous. :)

Onto my dad. He had surgery on his neck to fuse together 4 vertebrae. I think I have that right. Anyways, he is doing great. He is able to move his arms the way he is supposed to and couldn't before the surgery. We went and saw him that night and he looked good. We finally left right around 9 because he was starting to be in a lot of pain and nauseated. Good thing we left when we did, because mom said he got sick right after we left. Glad I didn't get to see that. I was already pretty uncomfortable, the doctor's appt left me very crampy and contracting a lot. Braylon was pretty scared at first. I don't think he quite recognized Papa right away. He looked a little different than normal, but Braylon warmed up eventually and gave him a fist pound and sat by him in his bed for a little while. He even gave him a kiss good-bye. I think that made my dad's day. :) He is doing a lot better, but still has his moments of pain. He can't drive anywhere and can't ride in a car for very long. So that means he might not make it to KC when we have Avery. That makes me very sad, but if it helps him heal faster then he needs to stay home.

Now Friday. I don't' know what it is about Fridays, but anytime Braylon gets the flu it is a Friday night. Well, technically it was Saturday morning, but at 3am Braylon comes into our room crying for me saying "Momma I coughed, come look." I knew what that meant. I walked in his room and could immediately smell it, but I turned on the lamp and him and his bed were covered in vomit. :( Ahh not what I was wanting to deal with. But every hour after that he was throwing up again. At least he knows how to get sick into a bucket. So the clean-ups after the first vomit isn't too bad. But I still have to get up and dump it out and clean up his face. I felt so bad for him. He acted just fine except for the vomiting and not eating anything. Which is understandable.

Ahh, I meant to post this on Saturday, but obviously it got pushed back. I have posted a belly shot at 38 weeks. I can't believe we are this close to meeting out little girl. I can't wait for her to get here. I am really hoping she decides to come on her own this week. I am getting very very uncomfortable, I don't think my feet and ankles could swell any more. I am just very done and want to meet Avery. I have a doctors appt. on Tuesday, so hopefully we are still progressing on our own!

Here's to a good week for everyone!

36 weeks

How far along? 36 weeks!!!!
Total Weight Gain/Loss? Not sure, I have my appt on Tuesday.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes and those are starting to get small.
Stretch marks? Here they come…. It is always that last month that does it to me.
L
Sleep: Yeah right. I don’t get much sleep at all. I can’t wait to have no sleep with an outside baby.
J

Best moment this week: Making it through another week! It was a long one.
Movement: Yes. It is getting pretty painful. She is running out of room.
Food cravings: none.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Having some strong contractions at night, but go away pretty quickly.

Belly Button in or out? Pretty much out.
What I am looking forward to: Making it to 37 weeks. Full Term baby!!!

What I miss: Sleeping on my belly.
Milestones: Making it to my ninth month. I am in the homestretch!

This week has been a long one. We had our month end at work, so that meant some extra hours at the office and some extra pain at night. I have been having some pretty strong contractions at night, but they never last long enough to worry about. Just enough to stop me in my tracks for about a minute.

Braylon is really starting to catch on that he is going to have a baby sister soon. He knows what everything of hers is and takes care of it. We have a dolly that he likes to put in all of her stuff and tells us it is for Baby Avery. He is so cute. He is going to be very protective of her. I got the car seat out this weekend to get cleaned up and ready to go. Braylon made us put it in the truck this morning before we left for church.

We are starting to get very excited about the arrival of Avery. I have gotten her and my bags packed so they are ready to go. We just have a few small things to get and we are completely set. I still haven’t finished Braylon’s quilt. L In fact I haven’t even started on it. I am waiting for my next nesting phase to come along to give me that extra push to get it finished!

Now we are just waiting. I am kind of hoping she will come late so that I can plan a little more. I love having things planned out, so the fact that she could come early is scaring the bejesus out of me. I just DO NOT want to go into labor at work.

We will keep you all posted on things to come. I have my first “check” on Tuesday so we shall see how things are progressing.

34 weeks

Wow, where does the time go? I can't believe that I am 34 weeks pregnant. I have only 6 weeks to go!! I just can't believe it. I can remember taking the home pregnancy tests confirming my suspicion that I was pregnant and the due date seemed so far away. Now it is almost here!! Almost sooner than I am ready for. :) This definitely isn't the best looking picture, but all I have had time for with two sickies in the house.

I have put up two polls on Avery's arrival. Please vote! I am just curious to see what everyone thinks might happen. Here are mine and Chris's detailed votes along with what Braylon's stats were:

Chris: March 3rd, 8:52pm, 7lbs 11oz
Mine: March 7th, 11:52am, 9lbs 2oz

Braylon: His due date was 7/7/07. Born 7/10/07, 9:23pm, 8lbs 7oz

How far along? 34 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss? 10 lbs as of last Tuesday.
Maternity clothes? Oh, yes.
Stretch marks? No new ones, it won't be long for some new ones to appear.
Sleep: Not the greatest, but I'll take what I can get.
Best moment this week: Getting Avery's bedding done! Now on to Braylon's!
Movement: Yes. It is getting pretty painful. She is running out of room.
Food cravings: none.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Lots of Braxton Hicks,
Belly Button in or out? Half in Half out. Getting more out by the day.
What I am looking forward to: Getting Braylon and Avery's room completely finished!
Weekly Wisdom: None.
Milestones: Only 6 weeks to go! She is definitely head down and very very low.
