Long Week/38 weeks

What a long week in the Meyn household. It started off with a relaxing Monday. I had the day off for President's Day and Chris took if off to spend the day with me. We ran a few errands, saw a movie, went out to eat for lunch and then headed to his work for a Baby Shower. They got us diapers, burp cloths and a lot of adorable outfits, among other things. It was very nice of them and we had a great time.

Then on to Tuesday. This was a very busy day. I had to work, go to a doctors appt and my dad had surgery on his neck. The doctors appt went great except for being there for 2 hours. I was hoping to be done by six so we could be on the road to Topeka to see my dad, but they of course were running behind. But anyway, Avery looked great and I have progressed much further than I was expecting. With Braylon, I was a 1 the whole time. I went to the hospital at a 1, 1 week past my due date. So I was shocked to hear the doctor say I was a 3-3.5 and very soft. She couldn't quite feel the head, so It won't be awhile yet. I just can't imagine her being any lower. She is already WAY lower than Braylon ever was. So this time a around is a whole new experience for me and I have to say it makes me a little nervous. :)

Onto my dad. He had surgery on his neck to fuse together 4 vertebrae. I think I have that right. Anyways, he is doing great. He is able to move his arms the way he is supposed to and couldn't before the surgery. We went and saw him that night and he looked good. We finally left right around 9 because he was starting to be in a lot of pain and nauseated. Good thing we left when we did, because mom said he got sick right after we left. Glad I didn't get to see that. I was already pretty uncomfortable, the doctor's appt left me very crampy and contracting a lot. Braylon was pretty scared at first. I don't think he quite recognized Papa right away. He looked a little different than normal, but Braylon warmed up eventually and gave him a fist pound and sat by him in his bed for a little while. He even gave him a kiss good-bye. I think that made my dad's day. :) He is doing a lot better, but still has his moments of pain. He can't drive anywhere and can't ride in a car for very long. So that means he might not make it to KC when we have Avery. That makes me very sad, but if it helps him heal faster then he needs to stay home.

Now Friday. I don't' know what it is about Fridays, but anytime Braylon gets the flu it is a Friday night. Well, technically it was Saturday morning, but at 3am Braylon comes into our room crying for me saying "Momma I coughed, come look." I knew what that meant. I walked in his room and could immediately smell it, but I turned on the lamp and him and his bed were covered in vomit. :( Ahh not what I was wanting to deal with. But every hour after that he was throwing up again. At least he knows how to get sick into a bucket. So the clean-ups after the first vomit isn't too bad. But I still have to get up and dump it out and clean up his face. I felt so bad for him. He acted just fine except for the vomiting and not eating anything. Which is understandable.

Ahh, I meant to post this on Saturday, but obviously it got pushed back. I have posted a belly shot at 38 weeks. I can't believe we are this close to meeting out little girl. I can't wait for her to get here. I am really hoping she decides to come on her own this week. I am getting very very uncomfortable, I don't think my feet and ankles could swell any more. I am just very done and want to meet Avery. I have a doctors appt. on Tuesday, so hopefully we are still progressing on our own!

Here's to a good week for everyone!

Best moment this week: Making it through another week! It was a long one.

Labor Signs: Having some strong contractions at night, but go away pretty quickly.

Belly Button in or out? Pretty much out.
What I am looking forward to: Making it to 37 weeks. Full Term baby!!!

What I miss: Sleeping on my belly.
Milestones: Making it to my ninth month. I am in the homestretch!

This week has been a long one. We had our month end at work, so that meant some extra hours at the office and some extra pain at night. I have been having some pretty strong contractions at night, but they never last long enough to worry about. Just enough to stop me in my tracks for about a minute.

Braylon is really starting to catch on that he is going to have a baby sister soon. He knows what everything of hers is and takes care of it. We have a dolly that he likes to put in all of her stuff and tells us it is for Baby Avery. He is so cute. He is going to be very protective of her. I got the car seat out this weekend to get cleaned up and ready to go. Braylon made us put it in the truck this morning before we left for church.

We are starting to get very excited about the arrival of Avery. I have gotten her and my bags packed so they are ready to go. We just have a few small things to get and we are completely set. I still haven’t finished Braylon’s quilt. L In fact I haven’t even started on it. I am waiting for my next nesting phase to come along to give me that extra push to get it finished!

Now we are just waiting. I am kind of hoping she will come late so that I can plan a little more. I love having things planned out, so the fact that she could come early is scaring the bejesus out of me. I just DO NOT want to go into labor at work.

We will keep you all posted on things to come. I have my first “check” on Tuesday so we shall see how things are progressing.
