Say Cheese

Here is a picture of Braylon saying "CHEESE". Anytime you hold a camera up he instantly says, "Cheese." What a cute little ham.

Braylon also does the cutest thing in the car now. Anytime I hit a bump he goes, "WHOA". And then follows up with, "Mama. MAMA", I then answer, "Yes Braylon?" and he says once again, "WHOA". Makes me smile ear to ear every time.

ZOO

Oh what a day. Chris and I took Braylon to the Kansas City Zoo today. Braylon loved it! Although it is not the best zoo around we had a good time hanging out as a family. He loved all the animals especially the monkeys and sheep. I only think he liked the sheep because he could actually chase them around. He would get so excited at every animal. It was so cute.

Braylon officially LOVES being outside. Chris and I have had the last couple of days off and have pretty much been spending the entire time outside. We have been working on our yard while Braylon plays. He even liked helping daddy pick up sticks. We live right next to a park, so he was swinging and sliding a lot of the time too. Now he gets really upset when we go inside and when we get inside all he says is "I go outside?" It is so hard to tell him no.

Enjoy our photos from the Zoo!

Not once but TWICE!!!

Braylon went pee pee on the potty TWICE last night. I can just hardly believe it. Chris and I weren't planning on even trying to potty train Braylon until after his 2nd Birthday. The thing is, he is doing this all on his own. I sat him on the potty last night right before getting him ready for bed and he didn't go. So I put his diaper on and started to get him dressed when he said "I go potty". So, I took off his diaper and sat him on the potty once again not thinking anything would happen. Then he went Pee Pee in the potty. We praised him and he got some M&M's for going pee pee. I was so happy! We got dressed for Night Night and headed back down stairs for milk and snacks (he has to eat right before bed to help him gain weight). Next I started to read him a book and he once again said, "I go potty" and got off my lap and headed upstairs. So back upstairs we went and sat on the potty. He peed AGAIN. I couldn't believe it. We cheered again and he got more M&M's. I am just so proud of him. But he is a very smart little boy and has put two and two together and has figured out that he gets Candy if he goes potty. So, first thing this morning..."I go potty, CANDY?" all in one sentence. So now, he sits on the potty and goes "Candy! Candy!" He will figure it out very soon, that he only gets candy if he does SOMETHING on the potty.

20 Months....Potty Training?

Happy 20 month Birthday Braylon!!! I can't believe how fast time goes by. In four short months Mommy and Daddy will have a 2 year old. You are such a happy, good spirited little boy, but you definitely have an ornery side. :) That is what makes you SOOOO cute! Mommy and Daddy LOVE YOU!!!!

Braylon has started showing interest in being potty trained. The last month or so, Braylon has begun to talk about the potty. When Chris or I go into the bathroom, Braylon states that we go potty. Saturday night, Braylon pulled out his little potty out of the closet and wanted to sit on it. So...we undressed him and let him try. Although he just sat there for about 15 minutes. He didn't want to get up. He was so cute. Well, we didn't think anything of it. We just thought he was playing. Then Sunday night came. Daddy was starting to get him ready for bed and this is what follows:

Braylon: "I go potty!",

Chris : "Braylon, do you need to go potty?"

Braylon: "Yeah"

Chris undresses Braylon and sits him on the potty expecting nothing to happen until...

Braylon: (Grunt Grunt)

YEAH....Braylon went POO POO in the potty!!!!! We were all soooo excited. He looked at what he did and started clapping. He was so excited too. So we all praised him and told him what a big boy he was. He even got a Starburst for going poo poo. I don't know if it was a fluke or not, but I think we might be in the starting phases of Potty Training. We are in no hurry to have him potty trained, but if he is ready we will take it as it comes.

I am just so proud of my Big Boy. (It is making mommy sad that he is showing mommy that he isn't a baby anymore.)

Sitting on the Potty the 1st night when nothing happened.

Sitting on the Potty right after he went Poo Poo.

Trying out his training undies!
