What can I say...it has been quite the week. I have never seen the flu spread through so many people I know so quickly. Everyone at daycare and their families, everyone in our household, plus my two sisters got the flu this past week. That is, everyone but me. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I did (knocking on wood as I type this!). The sickness for Braylon kind of lasted all week. He got sick (vomited) again on Sunday and Tuesday night. I think the Pediasure has been too much for his tummy. Days we haven't given it to him he has been a little better, at least not vomiting. He still does not have his full appetite back yet. Yesterday, Chris and I got a glimpse of what the terrible twos will probably be like. This kid was not happy ALL DAY. He was so cranky and had a meltdown about everything. Luckily, he woke up this morning like my happy little boy.
Last Saturday, in the middle of all the sickness, Braylon turned 1 1/2! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. We went to the Doctor on Monday and he had lost weight. Which isn't good for a boy that is small to begin with. But not bad for having the flu for the last three days. He weighed in at 22 lbs. Not quite sure the height, because I don't think the nurse did a good job of taking it. But any way, everything else looked fine. All other developmental skills are advanced. I always knew my little guy was smart! :) Sorry for the proud mama moment. The doctor still wants for us to see the endocrinologist on Monday. She just wants to make sure we don't need to worry about anything for as to why Braylon is not putting on weight. She said the nutritionist was very happy with what she saw over the last month. So, hopefully Monday brings good news also, and confirm that we just have a skinny child that is a picky eater.
At 18 months Braylon is saying all kinds of words, sentences naming body parts. He is so smart.
Here are some examples:
Words: Bite, touch, trash, shut, apple, Ikey (for Isaac), Read, Nite Nite, Blankie, Pooh, Eye, Ear, and the list goes on....
Sentences/Questions: I want down. Where Da Go? (insert-Mama, Papa, ball, it), I Love You. (This one is the best!)
Body Parts: He can point out his head, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, hands, belly, and feet. He can say eye and ear.
We also took a big step this week and took down Braylon's crib. It was kind of a sad moment for me. But, Braylon hasn't been sleeping in his crib for the last 4 months. The kid HATES it. So we set up his big boy bed. He was so Excited! We haven't forced him to sleep in it yet since he has been sick, but he likes it. Last night he fell out of it a couple of time. This first time he just went right back to sleep on the floor. After the second time we brought him into bed with us. I know we give in too easily, but this has been a huge step for us and we will get strict when he is back at 100%.
I better go for now and I will post some pictures of the new room later on.
Have a good weekend!
